Jed Arnold

I currently represent the 46th District (Grayson County,SmythCounty, Wythe County, and a portion ofPulaskiCounty) in the Virginia House of Delegates.

Jed is a firm believer in the values of Southwest Virginia, our constitutional right to keep and bear arms, the right to life, lower taxes and smaller government.

Fundamentally, parents matter and deserve a voice in the public school system regarding their children. I am a strong supporter of our public school system and the rights of parents to be involved in the decision-making process with respect to their children's education.

I am strongly pro-life and will support legislation to defend the rights of the unborn. I will strongly oppose legislative attempts to expand abortion.

I am a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and the rights of law abiding citizens to own firearms. I will oppose any legislative attempts to infringe upon the Second Amendment.

I am a strong supporter of public safety and law enforcement. Violent criminals need to be kept off our streets and should be required to serve their full sentences.

It is important that our community and the Commonwealth have an abundance of high quality and high wage paying jobs. Our citizens deserve opportunity and a good job is a gateway to both thriving communities and families.

I am in favor of keeping the tax burden low for citizens and families. When the government collects too much in taxes, the excess ought to be returned to the taxpayers. Additionally, government must learn to live within a budget that promotes efficiency and effectiveness of the use of taxpayer money.
