Growing up in a lower-class neighborhood in a high-cost-of-living state, Darius knows the pressure that high and rising costs put on families. In Congress, Darius will work to combat inflation by cutting taxes and wasteful spending, promoting energy independence, and supporting policies that bring inflation and prices down, ensuring hardworking Virginians can afford the American Dream.

Darius knows that healthcare has become less and less affordable for the average American family. From high prescription drug costs to insurance premiums that increase every year – the cost of healthcare is a major burden for American families. Darius’s approach to healthcare is results-driven – bringing healthcare reforms that drive costs down while improving the quality of care that American families depend upon.

As a business owner and commuter, Darius understands that transportation and infrastructure development are some of the most pressing issues for Virginia’s 7th Congressional District – for families, commuters, and commerce. Darius will advocate for federal and state attention to improving capacity and alleviating the congestion bottlenecks on Route 1 and I-95.

Darius understands the struggles rural communities face for resources and opportunity. Darius will fight to cut regulations, expand rural broadband, and protect the interests of Virginia farmers. Darius will advocate for the interests of local economies, helping the 7th District’s rural communities thrive.

As a small business owner and job creator, Darius knows that lower taxes means more jobs, more innovation, more money for families, and more opportunities for young people. Darius will advocate for permanent tax cuts, simplifying the tax code, cutting burdensome regulations, and reducing the tax burden on families and businesses to spur economic growth.

Having grown up in neighborhoods where shootings were a regular occurrence, Darius knows the importance of having a safe neighborhood to grow up and live in. He supports fully funding law enforcement and building trust between law enforcement and communities that ensure safe neighborhoods where families can thrive and criminals are held accountable.

As one whose life trajectory was forever changed for the better by law enforcement, Darius has a tremendous appreciation for the role of police in our communities, not least the FBI Academy graduates out of Quantico. Darius supports fully funding our law enforcement officers through enhancing training, qualified immunity, and ensuring officers have the resources they need to maintain strong community relationships and keep our communities safe.

Having seen firsthand the chaos of an unsecured border during congressional visits, Darius was appalled at the deliberate choices during the Biden administration that left our southern border wide open. Darius supports strong border security, including completion of the wall and enforcing immigration laws to protect communities and prioritize the wellbeing and safety of American citizens and honor immigrants who abide by our nation’s laws.

Darius has the utmost respect for our men and women in uniform who put their lives on the line every day for our freedom. When it comes to foreign policy, Darius believes in peace through strength. He supports investing Americans’ tax dollars in our local communities and focusing foreign defense spending and involvement around protecting key American interests and fostering prosperity at home.

Darius knows that America is free because of our veterans’ sacrifices and that Virginia’s nation-leading veteran population is the backbone of our great state. Darius is committed to improving care for veterans, by fighting for increased VA funding, streamlined healthcare access, and expanded job programs, ensuring veterans receive the respect and support they deserve.
